A nice local place. Good beer and wine list. Friendly attentive servers. And THE best fried pickles outside the MN State Fair. Just a tiny bit of spice, Panko crunchiness, with a great in-house made sauce. If I didn't fear being hit by lightening I might even say they are, gasp, better than fair pickles.

Needed a quick, relatively inexpensive place to stop for a quick lunch. And for what we needed, this was an A-OK option.
The restaurant is a waiter service bar/pub meets Paul Bunyan type of casual hang out spot for locals.
We came around 1pm, so it wasn't busy at all. Seating was immediate and service was attentive. I heard it gets packed during the weekend.
We got the pinto & quinoa veggie burger for $10.25. The turkey burger was $10.50, and both came with the choice of french fries or spring mix salad with house made balsamic vinaigrette.
Everything was decent. I appreciate that the turkey burger wasn't all dried out, albeit a bit small & flat. The size & flatness of the patty reminded me of a McDonald's hamburger. I liked that the bun was vegan, and it seemed pretty fresh. Wish it came warm though. It also cones with 2 round pickle slices, which tasted good.
The salad was a good portion, but could've used some tomatoes & cucumbers. The dressing was good.
We ordered no salt, mayo, or butter and they accommodated us.
There are two identical Jen G. Approved Bathrooms.
There are cute photo opps with their wall mural of the deer & bear.
Overall, a pleasant experience. -

Y U M! Such an awesome vibe right off of the bat. The decor is cool, the atmosphere is casual and fun. This place can get a bit crowded in the summer time, but I only waited about five minutes. Our server was amazing, I didn't catch his name, but he couldn't speak any better about the owners. It is so awesome to see a staff member speak highly of the owners, I believe Jodi and Heather? It's good to know this place is run by great people.
The food is awesome. A few options can be made vegan friendly. I opted for the vegan burger with fries- yum! Flavorful and made from scratch. It's a relief with all of the new processed burgers coming onto market- seeing this burger made from real, whole ingredients.
The beer selection is impressive and extensive. Many (maybe all?) are local.
A great burger joint to take friends or family! I will be back for sure.
OH! and they also usually have a vegan, homemade dessert! Def recommend to the vegan community. -

I have passed this place several times on the weekends and see it always packed for brunch. I stopped here this week w/ the kids to grab a burger and fries tap list is local and decent along w/ a list of bottles or canned beer as well. Burger was great and cool to know the beef is locally sourced. Wasn't the biggest fan of their fries though (soggy). Service was great. Definitely want to stop by for their brunch.

Update on my previous review. We started out at four stars. Based on their inconsistency of their cooking and just not being able to find a balance with ordering a burger and what temp to expect the patty to be cooked at I had to bump them down to three stars. And then the next day set in..... in the middle of the night I got sick from their beef as well as my wife, thus the two sad stars.
Usually even if beef comes rare it still won't make you sick, so this tells you a lot about their beef.
